The Ant and Grasshoper
One summer day an ant was working hard. But a grasshopper was sitting on the tree and playing guitar. "Hey, ant. Why are you working so hard? Take a break. Your world seems to be all work and no play. How about going to travel with me?" said the grasshopper. "I don't think so. The harder I work, the more I'll get." said the ant. "No, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!" Grasshopper stressed the importance of relaxation and started his journey. He went anywhere his feet took him playing guitar and singing a song. Winter came and a cold wave swept the town. It was so cold that ant would be freezing. Grasshopper returned to his hometown and went to the ant's house. "I know the nice place we can live. Don't you want to go there, too?" said the grasshopper. Ant was afraid of separation of familiarity, but decided to go along with the grasshopper. They arrived at the new land, 1) Insectopia. Warm weather was surrounding there and there were many insects playing musical instruments, drinking wine, napping under the big tree and reading books. Their hometown was frozen that night. Grasshopper saved ant's life, and changed his sight.
1) The compound word "Insectopia" is formed from the words "insect" and "utopia."

Sazik Baseball Park, Busan
Where is the hottest place in Korea in the summer? Definitely, Busan is one of the best. Busan is always the hottest place in Korea during baseball season because the 'Lotte Giants' is the Busan-based team. Furthermore, Sazik baseball park, the only base ball park in Busan, is a melting pot in the summer. It it not that large, it is ranked 8th in size, but it has a seating capacity of over 28,000, so it is ranked 2nd in capacity. In Sazik baseball park, there are many distinct ways in which Busan people support their team, Lotte Giants. Some people tear a newspaper to pieces. Although they sometimes look like hooligans, the atmosphere in Sazik baseball park shows the passion of the citizens in Busan. Although summer gets hotter and hotter, there is a warm and peaceful air outside the baseball park. Outside, people ride bicycles around Sazik. Sazik has a passionate atmosphere and also a calm air. If you are planning to go to Busan, go to Sazik baseball park and feel its atmosphere.

The Greatest Invention
Can you imagine your life without the computer?
If all computers are broken down at the same time, it may cause factory operations to shut down and computer related work to be paralyzed, especially very important services including airplane control networks and banking system may come to a halt. Furthermore, meteorologists using a super computer to analyze weather data may have difficult in weather forecasting. Above all, I'm writing this essay by computer!
The computer has made virtual world-I want call it as another and new world-. It has become a major part of our everyday lifestyle and It is difficult to imagine our life without the computer. First of all, It is being used in various fields. In mathematics, it helps to solve mathematical formulas. In medical science, it helps to make a thorough medical examination such as MRI and computed tomography-CT-. Furthermore, it is needed in defense industry and higher education. A second reason is that it gives us a pleasure. Through prevalent computers and the internet system, we feel free to contact each other. It created new culture, E-sports, and people can play together through the computer, no matter where they are in the world. In addition, it affords the convenience to us. An e-banking and e-shopping may be the best examples of this. Also, it improves speed of our life. When we fill out a sheet of A4 paper, we can cut down our time by using the computer than by our own handwriting. It may be the loveliest invention to a translator, newspaper reporter, and researcher. Lastly, it has the greatest capacity. Small hard drive can store lots of information. Thousands of books can be preserved in a hard disk in good condition for future generations.
Without the computer, one of the greatest invention, we would be seeing absolutely another world.

The Judges
The courts of the state of Michigan
To the Judges :
I don't agree with your ruling and think it was an improper judgment. In my opinion, Jessica should have remained with the DeBoers. First of all, the DeBoers, who have a successful life and live in a large house, seem to be good people who support Jessica and take care of her. What is more, they have already love her very much without blood ties. If they lose Jessica, they will be very sad and frustrated. A second reason is that natural parents of Jessica, the Schmidts, gave her up previously. Even though Dan didn't agree with adoption, they made a chance that they might do something bad again to Jessica when they encounter another difficult trouble. Also, if Jessica changes families at this young age, it is possible that she will experience psychological problems. Since Dan already had two children by two different mothers, Jessica will have stepsiblings. It may cause great confusion to her, "Who am I? and who are they?". Finally, If Jessica is taken away from the DeBoers, other people will not want to adopt babies. Though the DeBoers adopted another child, I think they felt so lonely, this absurd case may be the reason people don't want to adopt babies. If when adoptive parents raised their child well and natural parents suddenly turn up and say "We will take her back, give us her", how they feel? I want to make a representation to the Government that laws about adoption should be clear and firm.
Sincerely,
Kim Jae un

(3rd homework) What makes person good at learning English?
Amanda Stoddard Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Dear Prof. Stoddard :
Recently, I’m indulged in speaking and writing English, and want to introduce my ideas about what makes person good at learning English. I think learning English must be “Not Study, but Acquisition”.
First of all, English tests prevailing in the Korea, such as TOEIC-before introducing TOEIC Speaking-, SAT, etc, focused on reading comprehension and students are taught one-sidedly. One way English learner can felt interested in English is a study group. In group activities, they can play a game, debate about a subject concerning social issues, and play roles in TV dramas. The second way is ‘Virtual date’, I named it :). Men and women pair up, and then each couple write letters or e-mails each other. In this process, they should rack their brains to express genuine feelings. Eventually, they can extend not only their vocabulary and expressiveness, but also their attention and interest.
Above all things, motivation and circumstances are the “key” to study English effectively. Spontaneous interest in English is better than obligatory terms. “Study without desire spoils the memory, and it retains nothing that it takes in”.
Best regards,
Jaeun Kim

The Leadership This Era Wants
There is no need to apply many modifiers to this man. Undoubtedly, he is an icon to Korean people ranging from young students to the elderly. He used to be a doctor, a CEO, and is working as a professor at the graduate school of Innovation and Technology Management. His name is Ahn Cheol-Soo. A lot of newspapers and magazines compliment him on the growth of his company. However, I want to focus on his personality, mild but strong nature. He is really unselfish and humble. When he was running his own company, he distributed his private stocks to employees equally. He put emphasis on sharing the profits with other people. Moreover, he is a humble person. Accordingly, it can be a significant factor what attracts more people to him. If so, is he just a mild and soft person? Absolutely not. He is greatly a strong and solid person, too. He always perseveres when faced with any challenge. For instance, he dealt with computer viruses all night in spite of entering the army the next day. For this reason, he had forgotten to call and tell his mom that he was going to enter the army. His motto, "Always do my best", shows his endeavor and passion. Due to his refined characteristic, he has become an important mentor and a leading character for Korean society.

But on tuesday he has the first class so he has to wake up at 7 A.M. Therefore if he sometimes looks tired or exhausted in our tuesday class, we should understand it! :) It's not his usual thing.
He traveled overseas twice. He went to Japan 10 years ago and China last year. His favorite TV program is 'Unlimited Challenge'(We call it '무한도전' in Korean) and the latest movie he watched in theater is 'Love and other drugs'. he recommended that movie so I'll soon watch it.
